Membership Overview

GWFCC offers an unprecedented forum for the members of the local fashion industry to connect—for business.  This forum builds bridges in our community and helps grow revenue for the industry and the city. GWFCC also provides assistance on all levels—including legislative awareness and analysis, technical assistance, educational support, and global exposure—to help its members build stronger and more successful businesses and institutes of learning.   

Eligibility: Membership in the GWFCC is open to individuals, associations, businesses, corporations, organizations, and foundations that support the GWFCC’s objectives. All members will receive:

  1. Free subscription to the GWFCC quarterly e-Newsletter.
  2. Exclusive opportunities to network with fashion businesses, corporations, local and federal government representatives, elected officials and other chambers and associations.
  3. Access to the membership directory and other fashion industry resource guides.
  4. Complimentary and/or discounted attendance to GWFCC sponsored seminars and events including the Annual Membership Gala.
  5. Advocacy and outreach on your behalf. GWFCC will ensure that all facets of the fashion industry in the Greater Washington area have a voice at City Hall and the federal government.

Application Process:

Student Members must:

  • Complete the membership application form
  • Demonstrate that you are a student at the time of application.
  • Attach or mail with  their application, one of the following:
    • Copy of Student ID
    • Copy of registration schedule for current semester
    • Student verification form with raised seal or stamp of the university

Business Members must:

  • Complete the membership application form
  • Demonstrate that they are a volunteer, consultant, sole proprietor, or any other legally constituted for-profit business.
  • Attach any two of the following:
    • Volunteer verification letter
    • Course syllabus (for educators)
    • Trade name/DBA certificate
    • Copy of corporate registration certificate (or website to search organization registration online)
    • Company business card, brochure , letterhead and website
    • Two client references
    • Any other information the demonstrates business activity

Non-Profits and Trade Associations must:

  • Complete the membership application form
  • Demonstrate that their status by attaching the following:
    • Copy of corporate registration certificate (or website to search organization registration online)
    • Approved budget document verifying your annual operating budget

NOTE: Membership shall be contingent upon approval of application and payment of all required fees and dues; however, the Chamber reserves the right to decline a membership without a cause. False information on any membership application will result in the automatic rejection of the application.
